From this video on Vital BMX I learned about some new prototypes that are being shown.

Tempered @ Interbike

I just saw some shots on BMXunion of the stuff Tempered Bikes is showing off at Interbike in Vegas. Mat and Tempered has a nice spot in the Sparky’s Distribution booth. Let’s hope it’s a solid launch for Tempered in the US!

Interbike

Another Interbike has passed and I was not there — again. I probably didn’t miss too much, judging from the pics that have been posted. One thing though… was there only one dude there with a camera? I seem to almost exclusively have seen the photos Kurt from BMXunion has on his site re-posted everywhere.

Frost Bike 2009

Found this article from Frost Bike 2009 on BMX Union. Frost Bike is a bicycle tradeshow (not to be confused with FReestylers Of STockholm for all you Swedes out there who might have heard of them), kinda like Interbike, but smaller and more boring apparently. I haven’t been there so I’m just telling it like I hear it.

A bunch of companies had booths up. But none of them showed anything really new since Interbike. Surprise, surprise! Although Profile had an interesting table of products. This is what Kurt from BMX Union wrote about their booth:

“Profile has been kicking a lot of ass lately getting together a bunch of colorways going for their products for sure. If I remember right they have 9 different colors available now. Not too bad option wise for somebody who is into having a bike that looks good.”

They have new colorways my friends, COLORWAYS!

Alienation also have new pivotal seats that does not fit on the seatposts (or is it the seatposts that does not fit the seats?)

…what a disappointment!

Interbike is over. I’ve been scanning bmx news sites and forums for interesting new parts and products from other brands then the one(s) I’m involved with. But there was seriously nothing new or really cool. Unless you think 20+ new pivotal seat graphics (on the same seat shape), or new limited edition colorways are groundbreaking.

The most interesting thing for me was that the G-Sport Ratchet hub finally seems to be ready for release and that they’ve figured out a way to make a 9-tooth driver. It was also interesting to see the JC/PC pedal from Odyssey. It’s a cool concept and I think it will work really well. So in my book, the only company that really delivered was Odyssey/G-Sport, even though we already knew both those products were coming.

And of course I have to say that it was fun to see Niels Thanild showing off some of the new Simple parts we’ve been working on in his product highlight on VitalBMX.

Interbike

The Interbike tradeshow is over for this year. According to Niels at Simple Bikes, who attended the event, a lot of interesting things were on display.

Both Cristoph Huber’s Unity distribution (Simple distributor in Europe) and Sidewall distro (Smpl distributior in the US) had Simple/Eject stuff on display. And from what I’ve heard there were a lot of interest in the Eject hub and other Simple/Eject parts. Good news indeed!

This complete Enigma giveaway bike with all Simple parts was a highlight at the Sidewall booth and got a lot of attention.
