Equipment for Trails

Not many companies make trails specific frames anymore, which is kind of a shame because everyone doesn’t want their seat in the tyre and a front triangle you can’t put your fist through.

FBM just released a flipbook showing their new frame, the Steadfast. Trails specific geo and design with a bit more mellow headtube angle at 74° and a rear end that’s longer than 13.75″ slammed.
Flipping through the flipbook I came to the conclusion that it looks flippin’ good.

Custom Frames

A few years back, to help Stephen Murray, FBM offered custom frames and some of the proceeds would go to the Stephen Murray fund. Custom frames being something they normally didn’t do.
Now however, they’ve launched this really cool custom “frame builder” order form. Basically you can pick and choose between all available frame styles and “feature” detail FBM have ever produced. And also pick your frame geometry and tubing size & gauge (within limits) to set up your dream frame.

I think the list of options and range of geometry is rather impressing. Most riders looking to get their own unique frame should be able to find the options they want there, as long as it’s not something completely out there.

Here’s an interview with Big Dave about the custom frame deal.
