Simple Bikes have been bangin’ out some updates about their new products on the site lately. The entire range of frames have been looked over and revamped from the ground up. The existing models retain the same proven geometry, but they have been dialled in and tweaked to suit the demands of 2011 with tapered tubing, integrated gussets and a built in pivotal post for the Enigma.
Also, two new models have been introduced — the Riga and the Lombric.
The Riga is Eduards Zunda’s signature frame and the Lombric is designed as per Jeremy Muller’s preference. The both feature a new style dropout where the chainstay and seatstay endcaps are an integrated part of the dropout.

The Eject hub and stem have also undergone a bit of an update. The hub is now slimmer and lighter and one of the endcones have been integrated with the axle. The stem got the ’rounding off’ treatment and have been styled to match the style of the System frontloader.
I’m a bit late on posting this one, but here are some more detailed shots of the EZ frame, Eduards Zunda signature, that will be released in early 2011. I’ve worked on this frame together with Simple and Ed for quite a while.
Being Ed’s signature frame, it has of course been tailored to his specifications as far as geometry and general appearance goes, and we’ve added some refinements over previous frames we’ve made.
The frame features removable brakemounts, integrated gussets in HT/DT/TT junction. The dropouts and chainstay/seatstay caps are made of one piece of steel which adds clearance for a hubguard on the inside of the dropouts as well as giving a nice look to it. CS & SS are tapered and the seattube tapers down to a smaller diameter where it meets the new Mid BB that we opted for instead of the Spanish BB that we have been running in the past.
The geometry is as follows:
Toptube | 20.6″, 20.9″ or 21.2″
Headtube | 75˚
Seattube | 70˚
Chainstay length | 13.6″ (345mm) center to center
BB height | 1.6″ over axle center/center line (approximately equates to 11.6″ depending on fork/headset/tyre setup.)
Here’s a first look at Eduards Zunda’s signature frame from Simple Bikes. It’s a pretty straight forward frame. The main thing that’s a bit different is the dropouts where the chain stay and seat stay end caps are one piece with the dropout instead of welded on separately. It gives a rather clean look and the way it is welded also leaves a lot of clearance on the inside of the dropouts for running hub guards and whatnot.

The good man Dominik Wrobel over at Woozy have been busy filming and editing an online video for Carhartt featuring Simple Bikes rider Eduards Zunda along with Stefan Lantschner, Owain Clegg and Mike Miller. Here’s the result, and I must say it’s a bangin’ edit with equally bangin’ riding from all involved. Good work guys!
Here’s the full video from the Simple Bikes trip to Oslo. They hit up some really cool spots and you get to see Travis equip his shin with a nice bloody gash.

Here’s an indoor edit from MentalBMX featuring Eduards Zunda and two of his buddies. There’s some really good riding in there. They’re all going tech on the rails and ledges. Definitely putting the park to great use!
Adrian Malmberg went to Barcelona with Eduards Zunda to spend some quality time on their bikes. Judging from this little edit it seems that they made the most of their time there. Some real high quality riding in here.
Eduards has got a video up on the Rode US site, it’s of him shredding an empty, yet to be finished, skatepark. He’s banging out clips full of his usual style.
