Compression DVD Online | Part 1 and 2

Jeremy Muller, Simple bikes team rider, created the Compression DVD with his friends. It consists of all trails footage from around France. The DVD was available together with the trails issue of Soul Magazine and you could also buy it separately. Now it seems that the DVD is sold out, thus the separate parts will be released one at a time every week.

I’ve been slacking (as usual) with updating this blog, so this post contains two parts.

How-To: TUMULT

The CEO of the TUMULT Crew (Jesper Stern) decided to release the first Tumult DVD for public download. It’s a large file and my server here is apparently not the fastest, so just be patient. Do the right-click thing to download, otherwise it will open in the browser.

Here’s Jesper’s write-up about the release:

“From a time when bikes were heavier, most riders ran brakes and bunnyhop tailwhips were only for the best flatlanders, here’s our autumn video present for you.

This was basically the starting point for the TUMULT Crew and also a kick ass video.

Filmed in 2004–2006 including heavy clips from around the world; Stockholm, Copenhagen, Sydney, Brisbane, New York, Prague, Christchurch, Austin, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Malaga, Helsinki and L.A.

Full sections from: The Rahm Brothers, Patrik Swenson, Jens Lindberg, Jimmy Röstlund, Klas Löwbeer, Robert Källström, Jesper Stern, Joakim Olsson and a bunch of friends.

The most epic part about this video could be all the different spots from around the world, but to us it’s a reminder of many good memories.”

In a previous post I mentioned that Jeremy Muller has been working on an all trails DVD project. It is soon going to be released on may 15th and here’s the teaser. The actual DVD will be released together with Soul BMX magazine #65 and you can also buy it separate from the Soul website for around €5.

I’m sure buying one!

This BMX video is one of my all time favorites, along with UGP’s “Face Value”, Ride US Magazine’s “Thunder” and the Little Devil videos and many others that are too many to mention. “Home of the Brave” however is the one that really stands out and gives off that great vibe that BMX can give you.

Now it’s been posted on Vimeo, found the link on Fit Bike Co’s blog and it’s probably been posted all over the place alredy. But here you go. Anthem — “Home of the Brave”:

The Waiting List

The new Focalpoint DVD, The Waiting List, is now available. On the disc is also another full length feature; Defero Video Mag which covers more of the Australian BMX community — Defero actually means “Community” in latin, which I guess makes sense.

Buy it from the FP online store now, or get it at your local bmx store that carries FP stuff.

The date has now been set for the Focalpoint and Defero DVD premiere. It’ll go down on the 27th at the Mercat Cross Hotel. It’s 18+ and the doors open at around 7pm. The DVD will be played during the night.

Torleif & the Hunters

Satan I Gatan!

Team TUMULT head honcho and driving force Jesper Stern decided to put his DVD “Satan I Gatan” (translates literally to “Devil in the streets”, but is actually an expression that could be translated to “holy shit” or something like that).

It was released in October 2007 and I guess it was about time it was put online.

For the record, my part is at 10 minutes sharp.

Anthem 2!

Some of you reading his might remember an old BMX video (VHS) by Stew Johnson called Anthem. He made this one way before DVD’s were common and there was million dollar budgets for team videos. Anthem was truly one of the greatest videos out there at the time, I haven’t watched it in ages but I believe it would still hold the same magic. The riding was epic with mainly street, trails and some park (if i remember it correctly) the soundtrack was great and editing was top notch.

For a long time I’ve been wishing for a sequel and a re-master of the original Anthem. After reading this on Defgrip it seems like my wish is coming true. Anthem 2! With sections from Sean Burns, Geoff Slatterly, Brian Yeagle, Chris Doyle, Eli Platt, Mike Aitken, Chase Hawk and maybe one or two more riders if this lineup can’t produce enough footage. Guess the pressure is on for these boys. Haha

Empire BMX has already got Anthem t-shirts for sale and a website is in the works.
Looking forward to this release, fingers crossed that the first Anthem will be included on the DVD.

DVD premiere — Satan I Gatan

The new DVD from Jesper Stern/Team Tumult premieres on the 27th of october at Dubliner Southside in Stockholm. Subway station “Zinkensdamm”.
Show up after 8 p.m. and the DVD starts playing at 10 p.m.
No entry fee!
You have to be 21 or over to get in… sorry to all of you underage kids. We will sort it out so you can see it too later!
