Back when I was a kid I absolutely loved Darda cars — the kind of toy cars that wind up by pulling back. There are plastic tracks that you can build and the cars would go around those quite fast. Awesome stuff really.
I remember building the craziest setups with jumps and the lot. So much fun for a crazy kid! I also used to modify the cars by shaving off weight and painting them. Another funny way of playing with them was to race them in the bath tub — some quite amazing stunts were achieved that way.
A while back, for nostalgic reasons, I bought a couple of cars via eBay. Just to have as a little retro decorative piece. So I’ve had them sitting for a while just looking cool, but the other day I got the idea that I’d make a 3D model and some renderings out of one. Fast forward a few hours and here’s the result. I’m pretty pleased with the outcome. The whole thing is probably 95% accurate with only the internal mechanism missing.

“Tweeting” is like the internet-age counterpart to eccentric people in the city walking around talking to themselves or randomly shouting things to whoever is nearby — sometimes there is someone listening (or can hear the person talking/shouting), but mostly it’s drivel and nonsense that will be completely ignored.
The same goes for Twitter — Most that is “tweeted” you just scroll past, the few things that seem interesting, or catch your eye, is for the most part just bullshit without meaning anyways.
There was a jam at the T1 ramp just a couple of days ago. Here’s a video I found in my RSS stream. Man, I really wish that I hadn’t missed out on going to Austin when I was over in the US at the end of last year.
Benn Pigot is the latest addition to the Tempered Bikes team. Here’s his welcome edit. Benn goes fast blasts high and has his hang nothings down to a tee.
Since I’m a geek of big proportions, I just could not stay away from getting the new iPhone 4. I downloaded the iMovie app and tried it out. Since I have not yet had a chance to record some real video, I just made a little presentation with some images I had stored on the phone.
The dudes from Tempered Bikes are holding an instore jam and BBQ at the Helensvale BMX shop this weekend. So if you’re in QLD and in the Helensvale area around 2pm on Saturday the 21st you should head over there for some fun.
Quick indoor edit of Simple’s trick machine Adrian Malmberg. Here he’s shredding the local park of small town Hofors. Some really good stuff in this edit.
