The new batch of Simple Eject hubs are shipping now and the new colors look great. Very bright and fresh. In a few weeks I’ll have a new bike built up with the latest parts. It’s gonna be super nice.

Does this look familiar? Yeah, thought so too. Didn’t that other German company make one just like that?

New project

Found this beauty on some abandoned and empty patch of land here in Melbourne. Of course I had to bring it with me back to our place. It will be my little project to restore it into riding condition. Been wanting one of these “childhood” bikes for a very long time, it’s gonna be nice!

Wheel Slammers

Posted: February 1st, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: BMX, Parts, Product | Tags: , | Comments Off

So, another Simple Bikes product has seen the light of day. This one is really simple and useful. It’s not quite a chain tensioner, but it will keep your chain tight and give pretty much the same effect as having the axle slammed all the way up in the dropout. Even better actually since depending on frame/gearing/chain length combo it’s hard to get a wheel perfectly slammed in the dropout.

The wheel literally can’t move more forward with this thing installed.

Made in 0.5mm increments starting at 0.5mm up to 8mm with 2 sizes per thing (0.5mm + 1mm, 1.5mm + 2mm etc.). Also avaliable is a peg adapter that fits around the slammer part so for when using a peg there will be a full contact surface, but still small and clean for no peg use without the adapter.

Take a look at the pics below and you can also discuss on thecomeupboard or in the comments below.

Scotty Cranmer’s bike.

Ok, so a few posts back I speculated about Scotty Cranmer the machine running a Simple Eject hub in a recent video of him. Seems I was right… today a bikecheck shot at the Simpel Session turned up on FatBMX.

I have to admit that it’s nice to see my product on a high profile rider’s bike like that.

He runs a sweet hub

Directors for the director

Jesper of TUMULT and also the man behind the masterpiece Satan I Gatan just sent me this photo of his new front end setup. Gotta say that I’ve still not gotten used to the way the Odyssey Directors look, but hey… they’re light and supposed to be the shit.

Simple Bikes — Weaver frame

Posted: December 27th, 2007 | Author: | Filed under: Design, Parts | Tags: , , , | Comments Off

Simple Bikes rider Mitch “Weaver” Yeates will get a signature frame that will be named simply the “Weaver”. It will be slim and skinny, just like Mitchy himself. And if the actual frame turns out anything like the drawings I’ve been working on, it will be a really sweet ride! Can’t wait to see it in person.

And no, the frame is not drawn in MS Paint, like someone said in the comments on thecomeupbmx.net. Very funny.
