Perhaps they should call it, "the new collector's edition" :)

It's all about how you market it these days, the bottom line is if the people believe your spiel, then you sell product.

Unfortunately it also indicates the company thinks it's customers are stupid, tending to alienate the customers who don't just have the $$ around to buy on impulse.

Must dash...I have to now go out and buy a white iPhone to complete the set.

Jimbo!

I agree with you regarding "new".
Although I havent been reading too much BMX media / publications lately so i am a little out of the loop.

However I strongly believe that "styling", is an important evolution and time frame for a product to help expand its life cycle. (this includes updates, colours etc ....) but it doesnt make it new, more so "Improved".

All of this makes it sound like BMX products are like washing powder, every other week there is a new and improved, whiter than white with some new magical chemical that will help revolutionize the humble man in new ways he will be forever unable to fathom such technology.

Which again, after all these improvements in buyers knowledge getting better .... still shows that the majority of these people buying newly coloured parts as "new" are simply bored housewife's
looking for a form of escape.

Viva la washing up :)
