Long overdue update

I might not have been the only one thinking that the old Simple website looked a bit outdated and was in need for an overhaul.

The new site is now online and it’s still Simple and sweet.

Check it out by clicking on the image below.

Browsing the internet for new interesting things to spice up my computer I stumbled upon this website. It’s a graphic & industrial design collective who’s done some amazing stuff. The first thing I saw was these container icons which are freeware. They also have the same container style design as limited edition prints that you can buy online.
A highlight is the radio and the clock product concept they have up there. I’d love to see those two become reality!

Good stuff!

Filthy Drains!

Don’t know when this video was put online, I’m probably really late here. But whatever. It’s a few clips from the recent Filthy Drains Jam that Tempered Bikes put on a few weekends ago. Unfortunately I had no chance to go. Maybe next time though!

The Stats Soar

I just had a look at my stats for the site and it’s pretty interesting to see the spike in traffic that occurred after the post about Eject on Defgrip.net (thanks Harrison).

Now the stats can go back to the usual moderate levels of before.

Short Trip

In a couple of hours I’ll be on a plane to Canberra. Just to visit the Swedish Embassy in order to renew my passport. It’ll be the most expensive passport I’ve ever had to get (not that I can remember the last time I had to get a passport), including the air fare, hostel cost and renewal fee. Well, well. At least I’ll have one of those super trick versions with the new biometric stuff in them. High tech!

The Goodness of People

Ok. So we all know that there are some not-so-good people out there. But sometimes it really surprises me to hear to what lengths people go to bad-mouth others and come up with blatant lies to try to make themselves look better. It’s especially weak when it’s common knowledge that the originator(s) of the bad-mouthing and lies score pretty low points on the “how-to-treat-people-nicely-and-be-a-good-human-being” scale to start out with. Which kind of points to show that it’s all a desperate attempt to try to rid themselves of their bottom-feeder status. When in fact the result is quite the opposite — kind of like struggling too hard to get out of quicksand — you just get dirtier and even more stuck where you are…

…and eventually you suffocate.

Flight Control

Lately I’ve been playing this game on the iPhone that’s called Flight Control. It’s a rather simple game where you’re supposed to guide various aircraft to their designated landing zones by tapping and dragging. It’s pretty addictive and a game that really shows how awesome the iPhone user interface is.

FP #16 online

Posted: May 6th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: BMX | Tags: , | Comments Off

Focalpoint issue 16 has just been put online. Cooper is using this really cool online magazine reader thing. So it’s just like reading a magazine, but on the computer. You can zoom, flip pages and even embed it, just like a web-video. Check it out below!

Electric Pick

A couple of years ago I was flicking through the pages of a tattoo magazine and I came across an interview with this tattoo artist that goes under the name of Electric Pick. He’s of French Canadian descent (if I remember correctly) but lives in Copenhagen, Denmark when he’s not touring various tattoo conventions and freelancing all over the world.
I remember being instantly impressed by his work and style and proceeded to contact him in order to get a rather epic piece of ink myself.

For various different reasons that piece has still yet to be started, but the thought still lingers in my mind and I’m still really keen on the ideas that we came up with. I’ve still got some rough sketches on my computer.

Anyway, his stuff is well worth a look, so check out the portfolio, the blog and the Electric Pick Ture Box where you can buy prints, tees and original artwork.

Product Shots

Here are some “spy shots” straight off the factory production line of some of the new Simple products that will be out shortly. Not all of them are new products, but most of them have been refined from the previous batch. The biggest change would probably be on the System-stem which has received a total makeover.

Excuse the photo quality, real product shots will be up on the Simple site shortly.
