Mark Vos — The Video

Posted: March 30th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: BMX, Video | Tags: , , | Comments Off

I just found this video of Mark Vos posted on TCU. He rides for Simple Bikes, although Niels over at Simple seems to have been a bit too busy to post this yet — or it might just be the different time zones playing a trick on us. It seems Mark likes to go fast and to do wallrides which means he’s a rider in my taste. What’s better than wallrides and speed? I really enjoyed this video, I hope you will too!

Updates

Been doing some changes to the site the past couple of days. Changed up the background a bit as you can probably see. Be on the lookout for more graphics to change within a few days. I just suck so bad at the website design and coding stuff it’s not even funny. I’ve got a few ideas, but don’t know how to get it to work just yet.

I also refreshed the link section. Enjoy!

EZ interview on BMX Union

Eduards Zunda has got an interview up on BMX Union. Well worth a read. There are some really nice riding photos up there as well, including one that I can’t understand at all. Some kind of upside down tailtap in the ceiling?! Weird!

Also check out this new edit:

The old Swedish classic BMX video “Torleif & the Hunters” from 2004 is now available for download.
It’s the full DVD in disc image format (2.6gb)

Download it here!

Thanks to Erik Lindgren, the guy who edited the video and did most of the filming back then, who has kindly approved the online release of his work.

My friend Fredrik over at The Shape just launched his webshop where you can buy some cool tees. He’s got some sweet designs up there and the tees are of really good quality, and they’re cheap! 120SEK (That’s Swedish money for you who don’t know) or around A$22. Free shipping within Sweden!

So if you want to own some really limited edition tees, go have a look, then make Fredrik happy and place an order!

Focalpoint issue 16 is out!

Posted: March 18th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: BMX | Tags: , , | Comments Off

Cooper just got stacks of boxes filled with the new print issue of FocalpointBMX Magazine. It’s now up to issue 17 and it’s apparently the biggest one to date at a massive 92 pages! It’s full of good content such as interviews, bios, reports and great photos of riding from all around Australia. This is the second time I’m featured in the magazine, this time I’ve got an interview about BMX product design. Happy about that for sure!

Here’s what Cooper wrote about what’s in the mag:

Issue 16 is biggest issue of FocalpointBMX yet! I am so stoked with how this issue came out. It clocks in at a banging 92 pages, with plenty of rider bios, interviews and road trip stories to keep you entertained.
This time around FP interviewed Jimmy Rostlund about product design, young NSW South Coast ripper Jadan Roxburgh and all around shredder Nick Kajewski. Dinny Spicer gave us some insight into the ins and outs of the Fbmx organization and Dwayne Germain from Adelaide scores an interview about his sweet street styles. There is a massive article on the positives of BMX, featuring interviews with riders from all walks of the BMX lifestyle. Dialed photographer, Nitai, gives us a look into his world of photography. Add to that a trip FP took to Tassie and there is plenty there to keep you going!

Once again, a big thanks to all the contributors and supporters – we couldn’t have done it without you. As for the cover, well, I feel it’s a fitting tribute to Nathan Charles, a good friend to many: gone but definitely not forgotten…

Remember kids… FocalpointBMX Magazine is free! So go pick one up at a good BMX shop near you!

Klas on US television!

Posted: March 18th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: BMX, Random, Video | Tags: , , | Comments Off

I was randomly watching videos posted on TheComeUp and not paying very much attention when suddenly I hear a familiar voice and see a face I know. It was my friend Klas Löwbeer a.k.a. “World Champ” in a news report from Casselberry trails from FOX News in Orlando. So random!

He’s in there at around 40 seconds.

New photo in the gallery

Updated the gallery with a new photo. I also removed the row of thumbnails linking to some Flickr-photos at the top of the page. For some reason it stopped to update itself and the links didn’t work as they used to. So until I solve it I’ve removed it.

Really Foldable Tyre

Posted: March 13th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: BMX, Product, Random | Tags: , | Comments Off

Just found this photo and figured I’d share it filed in the funny section.

Look closely and you’ll see an almost perfect imprint of the sidewall text in the dust of the rim.

The way it happened was that a friend was riding this bank-to-wall setup and was doing wallride 180’s. He was running fairly low pressure in the tyre at the time and when he landed sideways on one occasion it just folded over the rim. It did not pop off or explode, he didn’t even get a pinch flat. Pretty crazy thing!

Cooper just posted up a sample for the new Focalpoint and Defero DVD. It’s looking good, can’t wait to see it!
