This is what happens to bad bike mechanics, or people who don’t check their bike at all before riding.
Almost exactly the same as this actually happened to a friend of mine when he was gonna bunnyhop his brand new, straight out of the bikeshop MTB up a curb. POP! Stem and handlebars came off and the result was a gnarly scorpion on the sidewalk. Ouch!
This is the new Simple ad that is in the new issue of Ride UK, featuring Oba Stanley and the Eject hub. The photo was shot by Rutger Pauw during the Simple Bikes rider gathering before the Roskilde festival.
I really like the photo. Good work Rutger!
Just read on the Trans Am site that the Little Devil bowl will open for the public. That’s nice for the riders who live around there beause that bowl looks like it’s a blast to ride. But that was not the point of this post. The point is in this passage of text quoted from the site:
“Tentative Plans: Were going to offer 2 weeknight sessions and 2 Saturday sessions. The weeknight sessions will be from 7:00 – 10:00pm (probably on Tuesday and Thursday). The 2 Saturday sessions will be 12:00 – 3:00pm and 4:00 – 6:00pm. Bikes only (skateboards wreck the plywood surface, how ironic). Helmets required. Signed waivers required (if youre under 18 a parent must be present to sign or else the form has to be notarized). Cost will be approximately $10.00 each per session. This is all subject to change, so check back here for the finalized details”

Last friday me and some friends went riding in the more skate-oriented of the two indoor parks here in Stockholm, the other being the rider owned Capital Bikepark. Turned out to be a nice session and Jesper Stern made a little web vid edit of the footage.
